When you select a role and click the Delete Role button, the system evaluates whether any members are currently assigned to that permission set. Based on this, you will encounter one of the four following scenarios:

Scenario 1: Role is Empty (Direct Deletion)

If no users are assigned to the role, the process is straightforward:

  1. Click Delete Role.
  2. A confirmation form will appear to ensure this is your intended action.
  3. Confirm the deletion to permanently remove the role from the sidebar.

Scenario 2: Unassign All Members

If there are active members in the role and you wish to remove their access entirely (moving them to the Unassigned tab):

  1. Click Delete Role.
  2. In the resulting form, select the option to Unassign all users.
  3. Once all users are marked for unassignment, the Delete button will become enabled.
  4. Click Delete to finish. Note: If you do not unassign the users, the delete button will remain disabled to prevent "orphaning" users in a deleted role.

Scenario 3: Reassign/Map to a New Role

If you want to keep the members active but move them to a different permission level:

  1. Click Delete Role.
  2. Select the option to Map users to a different role.
  3. Choose a target role from the dropdown list of available Manager, Employee, or Custom roles.
  4. After the mapping is confirmed, the Delete button will enable, allowing you to remove the old role while successfully migrating your team.
